Greetings Friends,
It’s been awhile; I have been ill and then have been getting ready for a month long sabbatical with a three weeks of it being retreat/renewal time in Spain. This is my first overseas pilgrimage so I am very excited but there has been lots of prep.
We’ve have just had the Autumn Equinox on 9/22 and have entered into Fall in the Northern Hemisphere or into Spring if you are in the Southern Hemisphere. Consider this new season and the journeys both inner and outer you will be making.
It is a time of saying good-bye and welcoming the changing landscape. The season of Harvest between September 22 and October 30th is the time of the Celtic Festival of Mabon, “it is considered a season of generosity.” Where are you experiencing abundance? Where are you experiencing scarcity?
Make plans now to participate in next season’s workshops. To put your name on the list and reserve your spot, email jmtrently@outlook.com and I will contact you sometime after 10/21 when I have returned from Spain.
The first workshop on 11/2 will focus on the Thin Places and the movement into the new year. It is a time of remembering and celebrating for three days - (All Hallows - 10/31, All Saints - 11/1 and All Souls - 11/2 .
In the second workshop - we will be creating a doodle art as we set intentions for the new Spiritual Year whether it simply be the Samhain(the Celtic New Year) and/ or the Christian Advent. The new Spiritual Year begins at sundown on November 3rd and the seasonal focus of “harmony, spiritual deepening and contemplation continues until the Winter Solstice on December 20th.
The “Christmas” will take center stage in the third workshop as we reflect on the reign of Christ and preparations for Christmas as the beginning of the Liturgical year focusing on the Gospel of Mark.
More on these seasons along with pilgrimage talks for those interested in my trip when I return.
Many blessings,
Jennifer
Have a beautiful experience on your pilgrimage. Looking forward to hearing about it upon your return.
